Mind-Body Research Scholars Program

The round three deadline for the Mind-Body Research Scholars Program is April 3, 2006. Review of applications will be done between mid April and early May. Successful applicants will be announced and funds available by June 2006. The scholars program is intended to create an investigator development program for junior faculty to foster interdisciplinary mind-body research through mentoring, training in research tools, techniques and writing skills. The program will also support pilot projects with seed funding.

These competitive grants of $5000-7500 are open to UTMB faculty at the assistant professor level or above. The Program also encourages applications from UTMB investigators gathering pilot data for new multidisciplinary projects in the area of stress and coping behaviors addressing the needs of Hispanic patients and the elderly. For further information and application instructions and forms please contact the Project Manager, Diedra Walters at x79344 or Project Director Dr. Victor Sierpina by email at vssierpi@utmb.edu.
